FAQ

What is matcha?

Matcha is a finely ground green tea powder made from shade-grown tea leaves. Unlike regular tea, you consume the entire leaf, resulting in a rich umami flavour and a natural source of caffeine and antioxidants.

How much caffeine does matcha have?

A typical serving of matcha (2g) contains about 60–70 mg of caffeine, similar to a single shot of espresso. It also contains L-theanine, a natural compound that promotes calm focus by balancing the effects of caffeine and reducing jitters, anxious feelings, and the classic coffee crash.

How much caffeine does hojicha have?

Hojicha is naturally low in caffeine, containing about 5–10 mg per cup. Its roasted flavour makes it a great option for the evening or those seeking less caffeine.

How should I store my matcha?

Once opened, keep in an airtight container in a cool, dry place away from heat, moisture, and direct sunlight.

How long does matcha last once opened?

Best consumed within 4–8 weeks of opening for peak flavour and colour.

How do I care for my whisk?

Soak in warm water for 1–3 minutes before first use. After each use, rinse with warm water, shake off excess water, and air dry completely. Do not use soap or place in the dishwasher. Store upright or on a whisk holder.
